C'est arrivé près de chez nous...

This is what happened the last couple of days...

April 20 and 21, Virginie performed on stage in a dance show called "Magic" in theatre De Naald in Naaldwijk. Erika, Paul, my parents and I were there on Friday evening to support her. She did great (proud husband writing)!

Brigitte and Philippe, Virginie's aunt and uncle (godfather) visited us on Saturday and Sunday. They attended Virginie's second performance.
We also went to the beach on Sunday. It was sunny and hence also overcrowded.


Afterwards, Virginie gave a guided tour through our garden :)








Last Wednesday Yves and I went completely berserk on the track at Zolder. It had been quite a long time, so we were very eager to put the pedal to the metal and burn some serious rubber. Lots of people there and this time our faithful Peugeot 205 wasn't the slowest car on the circuit! Adrenaline rush guaranteed as always.



Thursday night it was "curry club" night (the first rule of curry club is you do not talk about curry club...).

We are enjoying a long weekend (Monday Koninginnedag, Tuesday May 1) and yesterday we started off with a great BBQ at the Office. After a week of hard work (at least for some of us...) it's nice to know that you can have a drink where everybody knows your name: the EPO sports bar.


Today I ventured into my engineering skills. Those 5 years of dedication suddenly paid off: a couple of minutes and a blister later we were sunbathing.

MaPa in NL

Mijn ouders (aka MaPa) zijn van maandagavond tot vandaag bij ons geweest. We hadden (foei!) dit jaar nog niet echt iets in de tuin gedaan, buiten het gras afrijden en het wat proper houden rondom het huis.
Gevolg: veel onkruid...

Team Devijver-Wuyckens is er natuurlijk weeral in geslaagd om alles tiptop in orde te krijgen: de hele tuin wieden, herbiciden op de paadjes sproeien, de voortuin aanplanten met allemaal nieuwe plantjes, ... zelfs de ramen zijn schoon :)
Kortom, vier dagen van hard labeur, maar het resultaat mag gezien worden! De tuin wordt alsmaar mooier en mooier, omdat de planten meer kunnen ademen en de ruimte hebben om te groeien en te bloeien.


Gelukkig was er ook wat tijd om gewoon bij elkaar te zijn. Vandaag hebben we kunnen genieten van de lekkere lentezon in Kijkduin.

OK toegegeven, de middelste foto heeft iets weg van Miami Vice met een jonge Sonny Crockett aan de zijde van een iets oudere Ricardo Tubbs. Aan u natuurlijk de keuze te bepalen wie wie is :)

Paasweekend

Hopelijk hebben we allemaal kunnen genieten van het zalig weertje dat we van de paashaas cadeau hebben gekregen! Wij hier in elk geval wel!

Ilse kwam op bezoek van zaterdag namiddag tot maandag voormiddag. Op zaterdag kreeg ze een rondleiding door ons huis met daarop aansluitend een lekker dineetje met verse vis - tarbot deze keer ;)

Aangezien het zondag zo mooi weer was zijn we toch weer naar Kijkduin getrokken. De wind was nog fris, maar we hebben ons een goed plekje op een terrasje op het strand achter glas gezocht en het was heerlijk! We hebben er wel alle drie een rode neus aan overgehouden :)


Cet après-midi on a été se promener dans la rue derrière chez nous, Lange Broekweg, car je voulais revoir les petits agneaux que l'on avait vu dimanche passé pendant "Kom in de Kas". J’ai pris plein de photos des animaux là-bas, avec mon nouveau ‘jouet’, le Canon EOS 400D.
Photos a paraître bientôt, ainsi que celles de la fête d’anniversaire pour Pinpin (70), Mamy (69) et Pascal D (50).

Les oeuvres de mon papa

J’ai peut-être fait le bonheur de mes frères et soeurs, car papa était chez nous durant la première semaine des vacances de Pâques. Pour travailler, bien sûr, mais c’est lui qui ne veut jamais prendre un jour de loisir… Ce fut une semaine de réparations et petits chipotages; on a bien travaillé et le résultat peut encore être vu!

Some highlights:

• the lamps in the entrance hall and the bedrooms on the first floor;
• the self-made cupboard in the veranda;
• the windows in the garage (and the wall);
• and also all kinds of restorative tasks (due to the burglary and consequent works) - yes, the front door looks fine again, as well as some walls and other stuff.
