WWE Vorst Nationaal 13.10.2007 Survivor Series Tour

Zaterdag 13.10.2007 zijn we (Koen, Dieter, David en ik) naar de WWE gaan kijken in Vorst Nationaal, meer bepaald de Survivor Series Tour 2007 van de brands SmackDown en ECW.

Alle vier zijn we zo'n beetje fan van het eerste uur (aller, "beetje fan" is misschien het verkeerde woord dixit mijn onmiddellijke omgeving...). Ik volg "de catch" intensief sinds mijn 10de of zo. Voor mij was dit het zesde WWE evenement in ongeveer 15 jaar tijd: 5 maal in Brussel en 1 maal in Dortmund. In een eerdere post heb ik het al gehad over onze toekomstige trip naar Orlando Florida om WrestleMania 24 live and in person mee te maken, a dream come true, maar om de tussentijd nuttig te besteden hadden we de kans om naar deze show in Vorst te gaan.

- Kevin Thorn beat Jeter (pinfall after the dark kiss)


- Chuck Palumbo beat Dave Taylor (pinfall after a big foot)


- Michelle McCool won a bikini contest also involving Maryse, Katarina and Victoria


- MVP beat Matt Hardy to retain the US title (pinfall after a roll up holding the tights - after the match Deuce & Domino attacked but were thrown out of the ring - Matt Hardy hit the twist of fate on MVP)


- CM Punk beat John Morrison to retain the ECW title (pinfall after the GTS - after the match Matt Striker & Big Daddy V attacked CM Punk)



- Undertaker & Kane beat Finlay & Chris Masters (pinfall after the tombstone)


- Batista beat Rey Mysterio and The Great Khali in a triple threat match to retain the World Heavyweight title

De beste match was wat ons betreft MVP tegen Matt Hardy, maar ook CM Punk versus John Morisson behoorde tot het betere werk. De grootste pops waren voor The Undertaker en Batista.

De avonturen van Bompa en Pepe in NL

Zaterdag zijn mijn "bompa" en "pepe" (géén koppel voor alle duidelijkheid...), allebei krasse, genetisch gezegende tachtigers, bij ons op bezoek geweest voor de allereerste keer!
Ik keek er naar uit, want geef toe het is niet zo evident voor hen om naar Nederland te komen, maar dankzij mijn ouders lukte dat natuurlijk wel.


Mijn keukenprinsesje had voor de culinaire verwennerij gezorgd.

Ik heb ook mijn home cinema aan onzen bompa gedemonstreerd: hilarisch! De meesten gaan lopen door de overdreven decibels, maar hij vindt het prima zo. Het deed me denken aan dit :)

Hoe was het galabal voor 30 jaar EPO gisteren?

S-L-E-C-H-T!

De organisatie was ondermaats, de catering was boecht (Restour, onze in house EPO caterer doet dat stukken beter) en de locatie ouderwets en absoluut niet gezellig. De term "gala" werd hier naar mijn bescheiden mening zeer losjes gebruikt...

Gelukkig waren er de vrienden en collega's.

Werken onder zeeniveau

In augustus had Virginie haar papa tijdens een destructieve bui het volgende aangericht met onze ramen!

Gelukkig werd kort daarna alles hersteld en perfect in de verf gezet.


Tijdens een eveneens destructieve bui (wat is dat toch met die ouders van tegenwoordig...) dit weekend, had mijn vader zonder enige aanwijsbare reden de klinkers uit ons tuinpad gehaald.


Nee, serieus, via deze weg willen we onze ouders voor de miljard miljoenste keer (plus 1) bedanken!

Het was gisteren ook plezant in Den Haag. Virginie en ik hebben fitness mattekes gekocht, laat de six pack maar komen. 's Avonds zeer lekker gegeten bij Basaal.

Moda Italiana

We were in Milan a couple of weeks ago to visit Manuela, Andrea and their newborn baby girl Rebecca! Although there is more than a thousand kilometers in physical distance between us, this gap is clearly non-existant in terms of friendship and hospitality. We truly consider them one of our best friends. Virginie and Manuala worked together, back in the days when both of them were at Shell in The Hague living la vida loca as expats for Arinso. They became best friends and after Manu's departure from Arinso and The Netherlands, we try to meet them approximately once a year. Last year we were invited to their beautiful marriage in Napels and we'd also been in Milan before.

When you're in Napels, of course you cannot resist visiting the remains of Pompei...

...or exclusive Capri.

This time, we were eager to see Rebecca for the first time! We met on Friday evening in a hip and trendy place, called Roialto. In a lot of bars you get great food for free during happy hours! Veronica, who also worked for Arinso in The Netherlands for some time, and Fabio managed to join us.

Fulvio, our friend and owner of the best Italian restaurant in Rijswijk and surroundings, Gran Sasso, had bought a typical Dutch present for Rebecca...


The next day we visited the brand new family of three in their cosy appartment.

Virginie obviously enjoys this as much as Rebecca does. Tic, tac, tic, tac... Is that the sound of a biological clock I hear ticking? :)

Later that day, Manuela and Andrea took us to Lago di Como, which is about 50 km from the centre of Milan.


Needless to say that we were in a shopping spree (as is quite often the case...), but hey come on, Milan is the fashion capital of the world!!!
